Bacon Onion Bowls Stuffed with Wild Hog

Ingredients

  • Onions
  • Bacon
  • Cooking Spray
  • Wild Hog ground into sausage
  • Cheddar Cheese
  • Cream Cheese
  • Egg
  • Toothpicks
  • Clowney’s Seasoning Salt

 

Directions

Preheat oven to 325 degrees, Chop off ends and then core onions and wrap with bacon, use toothpicks to hold bacon into place. Put onions on large opening side down on baking sheet sprayed with non stick cooking spray. Cover small hole of onion with a small strip of bacon. Cook in oven for 6 to 10 minutes. In a skillet, put a small amount of olive oil, chop left over core pieces of onion and let saute’. In a separate bowl, add wild hog meat that has been ground into sausage, add Clowney seasoning salt, butter, cheddar cheese, cream cheese and an egg. Stir well. (if desired, jalapeno peppers, mushrooms, more onion or spicier seasonings.) Remove onions from oven and turn upside down and spoon in wild hog mixture into center, place back in the oven. Remove and add shredded cheese and put back in oven until cheese melts.
