BBQ Turkeys


Whole Turkey



  • Apple Cider Vinegar
  • Black Pepper
  • Cayenne Pepper
  • Red Pepper
  • Texas Pete
  • Salt
  • Butter


Split thawed turkey down the middle and salt and pepper,

Depending on size of turkey and grill temperature, Grill on 250 to 275 degrees for 5 to 6 hours

While turkey is cooking mix up sauce, ingredient amounts vary dependent upon how many turkeys you grill

Bring apple cider vinegar to a boil, then add black pepper to taste (the more black pepper the hotter the sauce), then add cayenne pepper, red pepper, Texas Pete, salt and butter


When turkey is almost done, dip in sauce, bend so that sauce gets down into the turkey and then put back on grill, then when turkey is done, dip into sauce a second time. You can also use a brush, or rag to baste the outer turkey skin.
