Hamburger Stroganoff


  • 1/2 lb lean ground beef
  • 1 T margarine
  • 1 (4 oz) jar of mushrooms (reserve the liquid)
  • 2 T chopped onion
  • 2 T flour
  • 1 1/2 c beef broth
  • 1/2 t salt
  • pepper to taste
  • 1 T ketchup
  • 1/2 c sour cream
  • 8 oz flat egg noodles
  •  minced parsley to garnish


Boil noodles according to package, drain, set aside.Brown beef in margarine. Add mushrooms and onions. Remove from heat and stir in flour.  Add beef broth, mushroom liquid, salt, pepper and ketchup. Cook over low heat for 10 minutes stirring occasionally. Blend in sour cream and heat until warm. Serve stroganoff over noodles. Garish with minced parsley.
