Jane’s Cranberry Sauce – Thanksgiving 2010

Ingredients

  • 12 oz package fresh cranberries
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup cranberry juice
  • 2 apples
  • Juice and zest of 1 orange
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon nutmeg

Directions

In a sauce pan, heat cranberry juice and sugar until sugar melts.  Add cranberries and cook until they burst.  Add diced and peeled apples, orange juice, zest, and spices.  Cook for on low heat for 30 minutes. Add pecans and mix well.  Serve warm or chilled.
