FTC Wins Silver Addy Award for “Let’s Be Honest” Campaign

KINGSTREE, SC — The work of local telecommunications company FTC was honored at the American Marketing Association’s 2014 Third District Addy Awards held in Myrtle Beach on Feb. 7.

The campaign that landed FTC the award was a 30-second television spot called “Let’s Be Honest.” The campaign was based on FTC’s value of being completely honest and having its customers’ best interest at heart. Silver Addy Award winners are eligible to enter districts by paying their own entry fees.

“We’re honored that our new campaign was recognized for its creativity and ‘honest approach’ by the American Marketing Association,” said Chip Chase, public relations director at FTC. “This spot had the opportunity to travel outside of this community and deliver our message and values beyond our core audience.”

The Brandon Agency, which produced the ad, received 17 other awards – more than any other agency at the show – including “Best of Show,” “Judges Choice,” three gold awards and 12 silver awards. The creators responsible for “FTC Let’s Be Honest TV” were Pat Harris, Creative Director Chris Vestal, Senior Art Director Michelle Bisson, Art Director Ashley Daniels, Copywriter John Lemmon and Films Animator.

The Addy Awards recognize exceptional advertising in print, broadcast, out-of-home, Internet and public service advertising. A panel of judges evaluates the creative dimensions of the entries to select the winners in each category. A gold Addy is recognition of the highest level of creative excellence and is judged to be superior to all other entries. Entries also considered outstanding and worthy of recognition receive a silver Addy. The number of awards given in each category is determined by the panel, based on the relative quality of submissions in that category.
